It’s no secret that being a mother can be considered as full-time job. Not only in terms of time and physical effort, but also regarding one’s world of ideas which is from one moment to the next only circling around one’s personal little wonder. It’s almost natural (and definitely worth it) that there’s no space to concentrate on things such as social life or work, at least if you’re not interested in mentally collapsing. But there are some exceptions which somehow manage to reconcile family and professional life, such as Laura Lechner, the designer of our label LOVEM. Shortly before giving birth to her daughter Maja, the Munich-based graphic designer started to seam several items for her child (like pillows) using bright colors. As became apparent, not only little Maja was impressed by her designs, but also her friends. Therefore, she decided to integrate a series of kids designs (LOVE THEM = LOVEM), such as soother ribbons or pennant chains, into a label that was founded by her husband. Ever since, she is the perfect example of combining being a mother with practicing a profession you love. LOVE – that’s the keyword and also the secret. To reconciling family and profession and to everything else.
